ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Take a Giant Step is a porcelain enamel painting created by artist Cheryll Leo-Gwin through a "stream of consciousness" process. Characterized by a layered composition of fantastical imagery, this piece is inspired by astronaut Neil Armstrong's moon landing. The artwork is a tribute to her son graduating high school and taking "his first giant step into manhood."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bethel School District.
