Inspired by her childhood dreams of flying, artist Jane Orleman created Fearless Flying to symbolize self-knowledge and freedom. Tthe balloons carrying the smiling figure "hold the promise of new life, new meaning."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Kent School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Artist Jane Orleman creates paintings that explore psychological reality through symbolic imagery. Describing her intuitive creative process, Orleman notes "my choice of symbols and colors and the inner world that I explore all combine to express my physical, emotional and spiritual life experiences." She lives and works in Ellensburg, Central Washington.
