ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Bird House is an abstracted narrative drawing by artist Jackie Hunsaker that depicts a bird perched atop a roughly sketched house. Layering symbolic images, the artist notes that in this piece she "make worlds that I want. I picture how life seems to be."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Auburn School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born and raised in North Carolina and Louisiana, artist Jackie Hunsaker moved to the Northwest in 1968. In her paintings Hunsaker depicts a rich visual vocabulary of varying images while exploring themes of memory, family, and life experience.
