ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Blue Grouse is part of artist Ron Jenkins' body of bird paintings. Beginning with a sketch, he used bird skins owned by the University of Montana to ensure he captures the accurate color and size of the bird. He notes, "Painting is my way of examining birds in detail and it provides me with a way of interpreting their movements for others; and of sharing a moment in time."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Marysville School District.
