ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Alison Johnston created the painting Cosmos as part of a body of works inspired by her home on the San Juan Islands and rural life in the Pacific Northwest. She notes that the title refers to "both the brilliant magenta flowers which I cultivate, as well as the interdependent nature of all living creatures on earth."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with San Juan Island School District.
