ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Sirens is a mosaic sculpture created by artist Tucker Petertil. He thought of the idea for the overall shape in a dream. He asked his six-year-old daughter to help him brainstorm ideas for the mosaic design. He notes, "We talked about its crab like shape. Then I started to see the nautical design and when she suggested mermaids, the whole design came together."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Toppenish School District.
