Artist Gala Bent's Topiary Arch is part of a series of drawings that resulted from the artist's study of gardens, zoos, and aquariums. They explore the tension between wilderness and civilization.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Peninsula College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gala Bent is a Seattle-based artist. She creates works on paper, animation, and installation pieces. Outdoor exploration and creative inquiry inspire her art.
Bent received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree (1999) from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo.
