Fellow Americans
Washington’s State Art Collection includes artists from every continent, barring Antarctica. (So far!) Their journeys to the United States vary from university students to refugees to art professors. They come from everywhere: Cuba, Nigeria, China, Canada, Mexico, Ukraine, New Zealand, Vietnam, Germany, Syria, and more. They come as babies, as students, as established professionals. And they help make Washington’s communities stronger.
