ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Burdened is a painting by artist Christine Semon. It is part of her series of paintings about the human condition and the ways we respond in a crisis. She notes, "The image was achieved through a slow build-up of gouache washes using light brush strokes.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Oak Harbor School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest artist Christine Semon received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington in 1970. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Central Washington University in Ellensburg in 1984. She lives in Yakima, Central Washington.
