ABOUT THE ARTWORK
U-Do-It-Art: Filmstrip is a beaded artwork created by artist Mary Owen Griffin. It is part of her "U-Do-It-Art" series. She encourages viewers to pick up, arrange, and manipulate her beadwork to create their own forms. This piece tells a story about geometric shapes and colors in space.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with South Kitsap School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mary Owen Griffin is an artist based in Olympia, Western Washington. She creates beaded artworks using a technique she developed called Puget Sound beadwork. She ran a studio called Cherry Street Beads.
