ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Late artist Jerry Scheideman created this abstract compositions using a technique which produces textural, glass-like surfaces in vibrant colors. Asphalt Blue combines abstracted forms in rich hues, foregrounded by stripes of negative space.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Meridian School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Artist and sculptor Jerry Scheideman (1932-2003) created his compositions by painting glass-like enamel on steel panels.
Scheideman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Idaho. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree from California College of the Arts and Crafts in 1959.
