Pencil box is a large-scale soft sculpture created by artist team Jeanne Detlor and Sheila Klein. The whimsical collage features oversized classroom tools. The artists used a variety of materials to create pencils, scissors, paperclips, and a ruler.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Collaborating artist Jeanne Detlor and Sheila Klein created imaginative textile-based artworks. They worked together at Triangle Studios, an artists' incubator located in Seattle's Pioneer Square.
