ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Ron McGaughey painted the gestural and impressionistic painting Hatchery on-site near Chelan Falls, in Central Washington. The artist has spent much of his life in North Central Washington, and his work reflects a deep connection to the landscape. Describing his process of painting in the field, McGaughey notes: "I drive to areas that still seem somewhat uninhabited; places that are quiet and give a sense of the integrity of the land itself."
