ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Lake/Green is part of artist Liza vonRosenstiel’s series of paintings titled “Ranch Work.” This series began while the artist lived on a ranch in California. The many animals that populated the ranch inspired the series. She continued the series once she returned to the Pacific Northwest. She created this piece after visiting Lake Crescent on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. The top image shows a close-up of a deer. The bottom composition features a stylized landscape with a green lake set against a deep orange sky.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Kent School District.
