Untitled, 1991
Susan Magnus
(American, born 1957)
Location: Office of the Washington State Auditor, Olympia
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Susan Agnus created this piece using a photographic screen printing process. In this technique, she converts the different levels of gray in a black and white image into a pattern of dots on a screen. She then printed the image onto a metal surface. She notes that this piece explores the “transitory and fragile aspects of our world.” Her artworks are interested in themes of shelter, control, and what she calls “The delicate yet tenacious quality of nature external to us and yet within us.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Highline School District.
