ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Puget Sound Convergence Zone is the final painting in a series of works by artist Nan Johnson that use abstract forms and atmospheric colors to communicate the sensation of spring and summer in the northwest. Johnson composed this piece using a spontaneous process of adding and wiping away layers of paint.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with North Kitsap School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Seattle-based artist Nan Johnson creates abstract and narrative paintings. She studied art at Western Washington University in Bellingham (Northwestern Washington), the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, and the University of Washington in Seattle.
