Wind Wave, 2018

Auburn Isaak
(American, born 1988)

Location: Peninsula College - Fort Worden, Port Townsend

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Wind Wave is part of artist Auburn Isaak's body of seascape paintings. She notes, "I draw my color palette from nature in its most elusive form; not as defined realism in its physical form, but as I interpret and depict it in my mind. This allows me to bridge abstract with the landscape that surrounds me." Isaak used a technique of poured acrylic paint to create this seascape.

Curator Kathleen Garrett selected this artwork as part of a collection of artworks for Peninsula College's Fort Worden campus in Port Townsend. The collection reflects and explores Port Townsend and Fort Worden's architecture and its unique Northwest landscape and character.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Peninsula College.
