ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Great Flood is a monumental tapestry created by textile artist Dana Boussard from painted and hand sewn appliqued fabric. The abstract imagery uses repeated symbols to depict the geology of the Spokane Valley region. Different elements depict the rise and fall of flood waters, cracks and fissures that formed the landscape, and the birds, fish, and animals that lived there.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Cheney School District.
