Globalization and Immigration: Selections by UW Art Librarian Angela Weaver

"In an age of unprecedented interconnectedness, ushered in by the rise of the internet, we are ever more married to global affairs. In this context, a surge of isolationist and anti-immigration sentiments reflect the fear and uncertainty that some Americans feel in the face of rapid changes on a global level.

The artists in this exhibition have created works influenced by their travels to other countries, their interest in other cultures, and their experiences as immigrants to the United States. The pieces illustrate the power and beauty to be found in art by confronting and tearing down the walls that divide us."
