ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Neck Tension' is part of artist Marly Stone's "Horse Series." The series explores the "essence" of a horse by isolating and abstracting elements of a horse's form. She created this composition by layering colored pencil over a photograph.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marly Stone is a Portland, Oregon-based artist and photographer. She has served as an artist-in-residence in several Oregon high schools as part of the State of Oregon Artist in Residence Program. She has served as a newspaper photographer, art instructor, and gallery director.
