Bay Front Park #1, 1985

ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Bay Front Park #1 is a hand-colored photograph created by artist Sally Wetherby. It shows the morning light on a pier overlooking Richardson Bay in Mill Valley, California. She notes, “On this particular morning, the light – and even the ducks – cooperated, and I liked the wet gloss on the boards of the pier… It is one of my favorites to hand color, I think because of the mood it evokes, with the crispness of the pier in the foreground contrasting with the soft, diffused quality of the distant hills.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Marysville School District.
