ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Site #25: Black Skyline is part of artist Juliana Heyne's series of paintings and drawings that depict the construction of the Seattle Convention Center. She began sketching the construction site in the spring of 1986, exploring the figurative and formal variations of the construction process.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Seattle-based painter Juliana Heyne captures imagery based on her travels near and far. She is inspired by the beauty of aging cities, construction sites, and natural structures in the middle of nowhere. In her own words "No matter the subject matter, there's some kind of beauty at its core that draws me."
