ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Lake of Dreams is part of a body of paintings by artist Kathleen Caprario featuring landscape images bordered by gold-leafed frames. The artist notes that her use of gold-leaf is inspired by European medieval artists in the 1300s, who used it to depict “light materialized.” The landscape images are inspired by the artist’s sketches which were done on location.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Stevens School District.
