Artist Stephen Yates created Ancient Ripple to explore the connection between past and present, as well as the link between the physical world and our emotional imagination.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Shoreline Community College.

Artist Stephen Yates creates paintings with bold, expressive strokes and abstract imagery. Inspired by landscapes, under water life, and the cosmos, his work investigates color relationships and the interaction of forms. Yates lives and works in Port Townsend, on the Olympic Peninsula in Northwestern Washington.
