ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist William Self captures dynamic texture, color, and light in his photograph Colors of the Storm . The image was taken at Lake Abert, located in the high desert of southern Oregon. He notes that this image “shows how dramatic the Cibachrome print duplicates the subtle tones of color to convey a strong impact or feeling of the moment in precise detail.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Transportation.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest photographer William Self creates abstracted and painterly landscape, still life, and architectural compositions.
Self received a degree in zoology from Washington State University in Pullman, Eastern Washington, and a degree in dentistry from the University of Washington in Seattle.
