ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Passages is part of a series of paintings created by artist Claudia Cave between her fortieth and forty-first birthday. She notes that the series explores themes of change, of "looking back, letting go, making choices and moving forward."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Nooksack Valley School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Oregon-based artist Claudia Cave creates paintings that explore color, symbol, and form and express her personal experiences and perspectives. A long-time teacher, Cave earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Idaho.
