ABOUT THE ARTWORK

BRIDGE by Benson Shaw is a sculptural image of a suspension bridge. It expresses a simple metaphor: your school and your education are a bridge to your self, your family, your community, your world, and beyond. The upper elements of BRIDGE wave, flutter, and reflect in any breeze.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Ellensburg School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Seattle-based artist Benson Shaw creates sculptures and architectural installations for public places in a variety of media. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics from Colorado College and a Master of Arts degree in sculpture and art history from the University of New Mexico.
