ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Looking Deep into the Water' is a landscape painting by artist Todd Horton. He notes, "A good painting seems just on the verge of telling us something important. The potential promise of secrets revealed."
Curator Kathleen Garrett selected this artwork as part of a collection of artworks for Peninsula College in Port Angeles. The artworks installed in Keegan Hall reflect the Pacific Northwest and the many subjects taught in the building. These include Aquaculture, Physics, Biology, and Information Technology.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Peninsula College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Todd Horton’s art focuses on landscapes and wildlife. His style is realistic but with elements of chance and abstraction, that encourage symbolism, “making us more sensitive to the world around us” in his own words. Horton lives on his boat on the Samish River in Edison, Northwestern Washington.
