Ahead of the Curve, 2015
Pam Beyette
(American, born 1945)
Location: Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center, Yakima
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Pam Beyette composed Ahead of the Curve with three elements: a curved supporting spine, a pendulum which subtly moves based on atmospheric forces, and a ground plane that records the action of the pendulum. These elements interact as metaphors for the process of learning, symbolizing practical experience, active participation, and applied knowledge.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Yakima School District.
