ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Margaret Liston created the expressively embroidered quilt Bee , which features a portrait of an older woman, as an exploration and celebration of the wisdom that comes with age. Liston notes that many of her quilts are conceived as a "little altars", which "call attention and pay homage to what is featured."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washougal School District.
