This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Evergreen School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Byron Gardner (1930-1992) was a celebrated Portland, Oregon-based painter and printmaker. He created expressive abstract compositions inspired by the western landscape. He served as professor of art at Portland State University from 1967 to 1992. He was a founding artist for Portland Art Museum's Rental Sales Gallery, which began in 1959.
