ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Dona Anderson created Basket with Sticks from cotton clothesline and raffia using a traditional coiling method. She notes, " I designed this basket to be round, low, tranquil looking, with a touch of elegance… The black sticks add to the rhythmic quality of the basket."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tacoma School District.

Seattle-based fiber artist Dona Anderson uses traditional basketry techniques to create abstract and conceptual baskets in a variety of materials.
