One Red Bloom, 1988
Sarah Thompson
(American, born 1954)
Location: Granite Falls School District, Granite Falls
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Sarah Thompson created the colorful still life painting One Red Bloom to celebrate the importance of life and culture. She notes, “The red flower symbolizes human life and the blood we all share. This flower reaches high through a clear blue space symbolizing the air and water we all need. Somehow this flower grows above and beyond a vase which seems to have been built from left-over tire tread.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Granite Falls School District.
