ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Draft Horse and Madrones is an intricate and whimsical colored-pencil drawing by artist Bet Borgeson. Many of the artist's drawings depict a narrative that is open for interpretation by the viewer. The draft horse is bred to be a large and powerful "ally to man," and the artist notes that she combines the animal with a vibrant landscape to "suggest an ironic combination of power and innocence."
