ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Windswept Hillside was captured by photographer William Self on Humbug Mountain along the Oregon Coast in 1988. He notes that this image "demonstrates the abstract quality that many of my landscape photographs convey."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Grays Harbor College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest photographer William Self creates abstracted and painterly landscape, still life, and architectural compositions.
Self received a degree in zoology from Washington State University in Pullman, Eastern Washington, and a degree in dentistry from the University of Washington in Seattle.
