ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Hurricane Ridge is part of a body of landscape paintings by artist Anne Fiske that express the feeling of being in nature. She completed this watercolor on location, overlooking the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula in the far northwest corner of Washington state. She notes, “I set out to seek big open space sites in the landscape that conformed to compositions I wanted. I sketch from life, as I want the painting to be about a true and memorable experience.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Vancouver School District.
