ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Crows Fete' is a whimsical and richly detailed painting by artist Isabel Sim Hamilton. It is part of a series of artworks that feature crows and their connection to the human world. Many of the artist's artworks study how humans relate to themselves and their environment by casting various animals in human roles. She notes, "The image is clearly a crow perched on top of a wrapped or bandaged head. The head is human, but almost wrapped in nature's green, the crow is definitely the dominant force."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Chelan School District.
