ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Sun Circle is a welded bronze sculpture by artist Gerard Tsutakawa. Playing with positive and negative space, the form references natural symbols, and Tsutakawa notes that the composition gives "a great open feeling with a soft wavy rim."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Granite Falls School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pacific Northwest artist Gerard Tsutakawa creates abstract and figurative sculptures for public spaces. He apprenticed for his father, celebrated sculptor George Tsutakawa, and notes that his designs are a "confluence of cultures and traditions of the Pacific Rim."
