ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound from the Space Needle is an example of artist John Moilanen's abstracted and geometric landscape paintings. He notes that these works "recast our perception of the present and past history of the Pacific Northwest through a fusion of abstraction and expressionism which reflects our unique local landscape character."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with University Place School District.
