ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Rob Stauffer hand-carved Frog/Bear Square Bowl from a single block of alder wood using traditional Northwest Coast designs and carving tools. Stauffer notes that the imagery for this feast bowl depicts two characters "based on the Haida story which tells why an ancestral frog fled from the Queen Charlotte Islands in ancient times."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Battle Ground School District.
