ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Cube Study No. 7 is part of artist Lawrence Thomas Duchscher's series of drawings that depict cubic shapes and inform the artist's three-dimensional explorations into geometric forms. He notes, "I vision the drawings as three-dimensional constructions; however, I consider them as separate entities from my sculptures, and none of the drawings are reproductions of actual sculpture."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with South Puget Sound Community College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Artist Lawrence Thomas Duchscher creates sculptures that investigate geometric forms. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1975. He teaches sculpture at Modesto Junior College in California.
