ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This photograph is part of a body of images captured by late artist James Sahlstrand. Walla Walla Community College commissioned Photographic Collection as a celebration of the Pacific Northwest landscape. The interplay of light and shadow characterize these images.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Walla Walla Community College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Artist James Sahlstrand (1936-2009) was a nationally recognized photographer. Based in Ellensburg, Central Washington, he taught at Central Washington University for more than 30 years. He received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Minnesota.
