ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Mountain Spirits is an abstract sculpture created by artist Philip Levine for Jenkins High School. It is comprised of five abstract forms that interact with one another. As the title suggests, the mountains framing the Eastern Washington landscape inspired Levine's forms.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Chewelah School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Northwest artist Phillip Levine creates bronze figurative sculptures for public and private spaces. He received his BA in art from the University of Colorado, and a Master of Fine Arts in sculpture from the University of Washington in Seattle. He was honored with a Washington State Governor's Arts and Heritage Award in 1997.
