ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Lee Bogle created the richly detailed mural Age of Discovery . Made up of five panels, it features portraits of teenagers based on real students from Kirkland Junior High. It is one of the first projects commissioned by the Art in Public Places Program.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Washington School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest artist Lee Bogle creates figurative paintings characterized by expressive color, texture, and light. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Washington University in Ellensburg and pursued graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle. He has taught in the Shoreline and Lake Washington School Districts.
