(American, born 1947)

Location: Department of Health, Tumwater

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Linda Okazaki's pastel drawing The Point captures the mood and atmosphere of the view overlooking Point Wilson in Port Townsend, Washington. She notes that she chose to live in Port Townsend "because the light reminded me of the light in the south of France where I had toured the area as a young adult, and felt I began to understand what Van Gogh, Cezanne, and Matisse had experienced with the light of the South of France."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Cle Elum-Roslyn School District.
