ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Urban Peace Circle Series I is a welded bronze sculpture by artist Gerard Tsutakawa. This piece is part of a series of works that combine hard edges with circular forms to create symbols of peace that "represent continuity and resolution, a looking forward beyond conflict."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Ellensburg School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pacific Northwest artist Gerard Tsutakawa creates abstract and figurative sculptures for public spaces. He apprenticed for his father, celebrated sculptor George Tsutakawa, and notes that his designs are a "confluence of cultures and traditions of the Pacific Rim."
