ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Gorge No. 1 is part of a series of photographs of the Columbia River Gorge, taken by Neil McWee along the Klickitat River in the winter of 1992. This image was composed with the silver-gray river as negative space to highlight the subtle colors and details of oak trees covered in lichen.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Stanwood School District.
