ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This colorful graphic represents data from 52 years of tidal history for the north Puget Sound city of Everett. The data is juxtaposed against a representation of sea level rise and an overlay of the EKG reading, which traces a human heartbeat, used in Peter Richards and Sue Richards' adjacent sculptural benches. The artists hope to "inspire thinking about how closely our lives are intertwined with the systems of nature and how our actions impact them."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Everett Community College.
