ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Richard La Londe's method involves painting with colorful ground glass, and he is one of the pioneers in using ground, fused, and slumped glass in art. Of his work he says, "I enjoy creating colorful fused glass murals that cause chuckles, smiles, and thoughtful reflection."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Orting School District.

Seattle-based glass artist Richard La Londe creates elaborate glass murals and objects composed of symbolic pictorial narratives and colorful forms. His work has been exhibited and commissioned internationally.
