ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Trained architect Barry Holden created this large-scale aluminum, neon, and steel sculpture. It has red neon lighting inside of it, and when lit, it has the illusion of hovering just above the ground.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with South Kitsap School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

New York City-based artist Barry Holden creates public artworks. His experience in sculpture and architecture inform his site-specific and environmental artworks. He engages the viewer while examining the relationship of public space and private experience.
Holden received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois. He received a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University in New York City.
